2023 CPA Alberta Social Entrepreneurship Award Finalist
In October of 2023, Power Properties received recognition as one of the top three finalists for the CPA Social Entrepreneurship Award, an honor presented by the Calgary Chamber. This prestigious accolade celebrates small businesses in Calgary that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in the realms of business, community, and environmental responsibility. The award specifically acknowledges those who prioritize the "triple bottom line" - encompassing the well-being of people, profitability, and the health of our planet. Joining Power Properties as fellow finalists were PurposeMed and Sandstone Asset Management Inc. On October 20, 2023, Sandstone Asset Management was named winner of the award.
Power Properties was considered for this award due to its notable contributions to the community through charitable donations and volunteer efforts. These include a significant $25,000 donation to support Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta in their mission to create affordable housing in Calgary. Additionally, Power Properties extends its support to the local community by providing free office space to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta. This helps the foundation allocate its funds and resources towards granting the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses. Furthermore, in July 2023, Power Properties organized its second Stampede Breakfast, collecting a diverse range of donations to assist the Calgary Food Bank in its vital work.
